This week, the 3rd season of Young Justice was officially announced, and as I hoped, it prompted some art ! I decided to draw a series of portraits of my favorite characters from season 2. Sorry for Nightwing’s creepy smile. Smiles are hard to draw lol but I’m working on it ! :)
The portraits series Is all done in my style, obviously. I kinda changed the way I usually draw Darkseid, to make it slightly more Kirby/Mignola-esque. Especially the nose. I love that in their version he looks like some sort of Mayan statue.
Later on I decided to digitally ink and color my portrait of Darkseid . Huge thanks to colorist extraordinaire Matt Wilson who gave me some great tips on how to make good sharp shadows. I still have lots of practice and progress to do, but his tips really helped. :)
