Last month, I tried to shake things up in my artistic approach. My usual technique was to sketch with a blue pencil, ink with pens, and THEN scan and color on Manga Studio. Now, I started inking digitally. I start with a pencil sketch, then ink on Manga Studio. Much smoother lines. I'm still working out the kinks of it, but it's better than before. Less bumps in the line-art. With the new look, I also adopted a simpler, more dynamic coloring, akin to animation style. For this experiment, I used my favorite twisted family, the Wilsons, Deathstroke and co.
The huge advantage of this new digital approach, is that it's also much easier to correct my mistakes.
